Upfor sale is this Rare Kellogg Telephone Operators statin, mouthpiece #178-C (withchest plate) and earphone with spring strap leather covered. This is Original Equipment and not areproduction and is about 100 years old. The (Mic) horn is in perfect condition, no cracks, chips or any other damage. This part is mounted on a chest plate, normally wornaround the operator’s neck. The base hasa ball swivel and moves easily. This is agreat looking piece and is hard wired to a single earphone, probably theoriginal piece, but the spring band may be newer head piece addition. (The vintage ones I see have a double bandover the head, this is an inch wide band and leather covered. The earphone also has Kellogg & Co. madein Chicago USA. The cord has anoriginal paper tag that says (Kellogg S & S. CO. No. 10 Cord Chicago USA). The cord is braded and is about 4 feet longand there are 4 lead wires, 2 to the microphone and 2 to the earphone. The Mic has solid green wires and theearphone has green with a small dot every 1/4 inch along the wire. This is a very interesting piece and I haveno way to test this telephone system.
