Here is a fascinating Victorian photo album known at the William Gladstone Album that must had belonged to a prominent family at one time! This piece dates from the 1880\'s, when Prime Minister Gladstone would have been famous. The double tune music box sounds great and much better than the majority of movements sounded in these old picture albums. The two melodies are, "The Merry Farmer Boy", and "Two Little Girls in Blue". To play the music, you just pulled on the little brass control handle on the outside of the album and it would play and repeat the two songs. This music box is under a glass lidded cover in the back of the album. It is attractively illustrated. The dimensions are 9"by 11.5" by 3" thick. The original winding key is present.
