This item still rotates freely and is in great shape. An appraiser told us it is circa 1875 but please ask any questions and judge for yourself. This is not our area of expertise but this is obviously a very cool piece. It is made of wood. The gears move freely. It has a drawer o the bottom to catch the grain....Mostly wood except for the catch. The wire mesh screen inside is worn but expected foe a piece this old...has square nails etc...would be great on a farm, in a museum or restaurant decor.
