This is an original Apartheid Era sign I acquired from Cape Town, South Africa. Material used: Masonite Board with wood frame. Very large wood sign. Apartheidwas a system of institutionalisedracial segregationanddiscriminationinSouth Africabetween 1948 and 1991. A sign like this has been used during that time to segregate White people from Blacks. This is a one of a kind sign. After they abolished Apartheid, the new South African government, under the leadership of Nelson Mandela, ordered the removal and destruction of the remaining signs. Some went to Apartheid Museum and some to private collectors like me. You will never find a sign like this. Apartheid era signs are hard to find nowadays. I have been a collector for the past two years. You can see my other Apartheid signs in the photos.
