An original SCOTTISH ARGYLL & SUTHERLAND HIGHLANDERS Mess Jacket with correct cream/yellow facings for a Highland Regiment. Domed gilt regimental buttons made by Brook & Sons Edinburgh Scotland - 4 large buttons center closure and 2 smaller buttons on end of both sleeves. No label or rank insignia. Lining on sleeves is early material indicating the mess jacket was made around WWII or early 1950\'s. Lining has been hand stitched. Quality velvet lining on the back of the collar. Chest is approximately 30 to 31 inches. Jacket measures 23 inches top of collar to bottom center hem on the back. Sleeves are approximately 18.5 inches on the inside and 24 inches on the outside. Mess jacket in excellent condition overall with only slight aging to the material. The general construction and quality of the material would indicate this was intended to be issued to an officer, where the rank and insignia would have been added. Any questions please email
