Aster Gauge 1 Brass NYC Hudson #5344 electric-powered Locomotive - Excel. Cond.

In 2013 I listed and sold on over 50 Gauge 1 Brass locomotives and rolling stock for the this collector, who passed away a few months ago. Remaining in his estate were two locomotives, this NYC Hudson and a PRR GGI , which precedes this listing. These two locomotives were his favorites and he decided to not sell them with the others. Now that he has passed the estate has asked me to sale them on . This Hudson was purchased nearly 8 years ago, was fully operational and not used beyond testing when he received it. It was on display in his home office since its acquisition. It appears to be complete with its original wood case from Aster complete with white gloves and some additional small accessories. The paperwork may be incomplete as only the history and specification sheet plus the builders plans shown in the photos are available. I suspect the owners manual or instruction booklet is missing.

I would expect it to run after a little coaxing as these engines tend to freeze up a bit when not used for years. The lubrication starts to solidify. You can note from the driver wheels that the engine was virtually unused. Do lubricate the engine before starting.

The overall condition of the engine is excellent. There are a very few tiny marks on the paint which are normally not visible unless you are looking for them. There is display dust which can be removed by engaging in a bit of detailed cleaning with a soft brush and a bit of detergent.

The paperwork seen in the photos will accompany the locomotive.

Shipping .... I learned the hard way over a year ago, after having FEDEX drop and harm a 35 lb. engine, that the only safe way to ship Gauge 1 Brass locomotives is by building an outer plywood crate which is then securely fastened to a half-pallet. The crate has heavy rope handles that invite two men to lift the crate with its pallet base or get a forklift to move the crate. I use a trucking company for the delivery.

The total weight of the engine, its original wood box and the outer crate and pallet is approximately 80 lbs. (35 kgs)

The total cost of building the crate and delivering anywhere in the USA is $350.

For shipment outside of the USA and anywhere in the world the cost is $600. I usually use DHL air service .. delivery time is about 4-5 days.

If you wish to pick up in Hollywood, FL ... the above costs are eliminated.

Please note the handling time of 5 business days as the estate will not allow the crating of the engine until such time as payment is confirmed. Then I have to engage a carpenter to build the above described crate.

Seemy positive response and generous return policy.

Myreturn policy ...You must be satisfiedwith your winning offer purchase or you can return it within 14 days of receipt fora full refund including the shipping charges both ways. This applies to apurchase anywhere in the world. Sorry, I cannot be responsible for customsduties or tariffs.

Sorry, I cannot combine shipping on this item.
