Diane Thomas is a member of the Navajo Tribe. She learned the art of sandpainting primarily from her father, Roger Tsosie, and began sandpainting at the age of 14. She is well known for her intricate fine line style. Diane’s work was most recently featured in Enduring Traditions, a book showcasing “Art of the Navajo”.
Sandpaintings originate from Navajo healing ceremonies. The Navajo symbol of healing is now appreciated as a work of art.
