BELL SYSTEM, 54 in. LONG, CROSSCUT, CROSS CUT, SAW w/WOODEN SHEATH GUARD. Looks like it could be a Disston Saw. I remember seeing one of these many years ago on a \'Five Man Line Truck\'. This one comes from the Redwoods Area of Northern California and was carried to deal with the larger tree\'s that fell across telephone cable before smaller gas powered chain saws were available. They were also used to \'cut-down\' telephone poles and shorten \'cross-arms\'.Saw is in nice condition for it\'s age, the sheath/guard has a repair to one of the straps and it is missing a piece of the wood. There are two holes in the top of the saw for \'helper-handles\', the helper handles are long gone.Only the \'Bell System\' could design a \'wooden sheath guard\' for a 54 inch cross cut saw!Take a close look at the photos and email with any questions or for more specific photos before purchasing.Shipping is FedEx Ground.
