I just purchased a large set of Blue Danube fine china at a local estate here in Central Virginia. The pattern was produced by Japan between 1951- 2000 and is now discontinued. This set has the vintage ribbon banner logo dating it between 1951- 1977. The age old pattern Blue Onion is one of the most popular of all time and was inspired by designs of Chinese Yuan Dynasty, the flowers representing symbols of good fortune and happiness. The blue pattern is underglazed on translucent porcelain white ground. The sale is for a SET of 40 pieces, including 8 five piece place settings. Each place setting has a dinner plate (10 3/8\"), a salad plate (8 3/4\"), a bread or dessert plate (6 3/4\"), a saucer (5 1/4\") and a footed cup (2 3/4\").
