Demystify LUX

• LUX is the intensity of light，Light intensity is very important ,but the light sensors in lux meters have their own spectral response curves which may over- or under-measure light at various colors. This is why lux meters usually have different settings for “sunlight,” “fluorescent” and “incandescent” lamps. Again, because lux meters are meant for measuring the amount of light usable by humans, they don’t tell us anything about how plants will respond.

PAR is the keynote

• Plant biologists define light in the 400nm to 700nm spectral region as “photosynthetically available radiation,” or PAR. The unit for measuring PAR, micro-mols per second (μmol/s), indicates how many photons in this spectral range fall on the plant each second. Inexpensive PAR meters use sensors that respond over the entire 400-700nm spectrum, and have their own sensitivity curves that require different calibration for sunlight, fluorescent and HID lighting.

Coverage and Distance

• The optimal distance between light and plants is between 0.8-1.5m (31inches-59inches),it is the best choice for both veg and bloom, you should adjust the distance depends on how big your plants, if your plants are small please make the distance longer to protect your plants ,because too strong light is not good for plants ,and if your plants are growing bigger please make it closer to provide more light for them.

In order to ensusre that our customers receive a 100% good quality working light we opitimized our QC - system especially in LED Driver inspection and Light Testing process , here are the jobs we do in 2016:

LED Driver quality control : according to our experience most LED grow light failed because driver burned. so we require our LED driver supplier to test all drivers for at least 24hours before delivering to us . then we will recheck all LED drivers before product assembly .

EnhancedTesting Process: Most manufacturer put their lights on for about 4-5hours for testing before shipping, definitely it can not make sure good qulaity . we increased our testing time from 12hours to 24hours , then we will reinspect and pack them with strong plain brown box. picture shows our QC-system .
