You can spend anywhere from $83 to $169 on replacing your old PES or HUS memory card (I did a search to check this information). This card is a lot less and can also be used with PE Design 5 through 10, PED Basic (yes, this card is now certified to work with PE Design Basic), Magic Box, and PES2CARD.
This card works with PED-Basic. I bought a PE Design Basic reader/writer to make sure. This card works perfectly with it. I have had one report that the card did not work with an Amazing Little Max writer. I have two reports from users that the card works perfectly with that writer. Until I can confirm that the problem was not the card, this card is not guaranteed with the Amazing writers. The cardis guaranteed to work with the above-listed readers (except Amazing Box) or your money back. If it does not work with your PE Design Basic reader/writer, something is wrong with your writer or your software. I tested it with this box, so I know it works. Please read the information at the bottom of the sale description to see if it helps you fix your PE Design Basic box. The card works fine.
When you get the card, it will NOT be blank. I originally sold the card blank (no design on it). Several buyers put the blank card in their embroidery machine and then contacted me wanting a refund because the card \"did not work\". Embroidery machines do not like blank cards. If you put a blank card in my wife\'s Brother PC-8200, it lets out an alarm, shows a blank screen, and refuses to move the embroidery arm (just like it is should). It is telling you that the card is blank (no design) and to remove it. I now write a small design on the card before shipping it. If you put it in your machine, you will see the design (I currently use a cute applique owl). This is proof that the card is rewriteable. Please put the card in your reader/writer box FIRST and write a design on it. Then put it in your embroidery machine. If you put it in your embroidery machine first, you will see the owl.
So how can I sell these cards cheaper than everyone else on ? I get these cards directly from the manufacturer that makes them for Brother. When I get them, they have no label. I print and apply the label myself. You have a choice of two labels: A reproduction of the original Brother label (picture 1) or a generic Blank Card label (picture 2). If you would like a personalized label, they are available for $5 extra (see picture 3 for a previously-made custom label). I can make your label say \"Sew & Sew Custom Embroidery\" or \"Karen\'s Rewritewable Card\" instead of one of the two standard labels. If you do not specify a label, you get the Brother reproduction label. I check every card before I sell it. When I put the card in my PES2CARD reader/writer to check it, the \"Card Information\" field on the card says \"Copyright By Brothers Industries LTD. External 4M Bit ROM\" (which, unsurprisingly, is the same thing that Brother\'s 4M card says). Your rewriteable card should give you many years of service in transferring designs. Most cards are good for more than 10,000 uses before they have to be replaced. These are the same kind of cards that my wife uses in her embroidery business.
I seem to be getting a lot of purchases (and questions) from people who think they can put these cards in their embroidery machines and write designs to the card from their embroidery machine. In order to use the card, you have to have a card writer (like a PES2CARD, PE Design 5 through 10, or PE Design Basic writer) and corresponding writer software for your computer. If you have PES or HUS designs on your computer hard drive, you can use the card writer and your computer to write designs to the card. Your machine can only read a previously-written card, not write a card. There are no returns allowed for cards purchased by people who cannot read the rest of this paragraph.

I have had too many good cards returned by people with broken readers in their embroidery machines (broken or bent pins on their machine\'s motherboard). By buying on this sale, you confirm that you understand this provision. My other option is to raise my price to equal that of other sellers on , and I do not want to do that. You should not have to pay $85 for a good working memory card.
The following information is for people who have a PED Basic or want to know how to hook up their reader/writer unit:
Windows 7 and PED Basic- I had one buyer contact me wanting her money back because the card \"did not work\". She was using a PED Basic reader/writer box with her Windows 7 computer. She had used the Version 1.0 CD from the PED Basic box to install the software on her computer. This will not work, and it will appear that the card (mine or anyone else\'s) is \"bad\". To use a Windows 7 computer, you must download the latest PED Basic software (version 1.07 or later) from the Brother website. Do not use the Version 1.0 CD that came with the reader/writer unit. After downloading the latest PED basic software, the buyer\'s unit and card worked perfectly.
Reader/Writer Hook-up- After you install the reader/writer software on your computer, hook your reader/writer box to one of the computer\'s USB ports. Do not hook it to the USB port on your embroidery machine. It will not work. Yes, one buyer did hook their reader/writer to their embroidery machine and contacted me for a refund because of a \"bad\" card. After correcting the hook-up, she is now enjoying her new card, and it is working fine. I recommended that she start using a USB drive to transfer designs to her machine.
