This is for a beautiful hallmarked silver lancet set dated London 1814. The London hallmark and makers mark (JE?)are stamped on the bottom of the case.The top of the case is engraved with the owner\'s name , \"W. Bagnold\". The case is 2.5\" (6.4cm) long, 1.2\" (3cm) wide at the cover and 0.3\" (0.8cm) thick. It is beautifully engraved and in good condition for a 200 year old case. A silver suspension chain is attached to the cover. Its hinge, closure and latch are perfect. The case contains two thumb lancets that came with the case. One lancet is marked Savigny and the other is by Woodhouse. Both makers are contemporary to a case of this age. Its provenance is the Sotheby\'s March 1995 sale. A great find and a rare, beautiful addition to a collection of silver boxes and medical, surgical, bloodletting instruments. Priced to sell this antique case. See images for condition.
