My Grandfather who homesteaded in the State of Wyoming in 1926 acquiredthis in his travels. He was an American Cowboy for 20 years before he settled as a Sheep Rancher in Johnson County Wyoming in the 40s. This was used as a camp oven at his sheep camp in the Big Horn Mountains in the 40s. Ibelievethis had a bale and hook to hang over the fire. But that piece has gone missing. I know this is very old and has had heavy camp use but I do not know its origination. It is certainly a unique icon of the Old West.
Measures 16\" diameter across the lid and 14\" diameter across the bottom.The depth of the stew pot is 5\" measured on the inside. The feet measure 3 3/4 inches.
