Up for sale is an exquisite faced 1930s Chad Valley velvet and felt made doll. Completely original, she has a Snow White kind of face while wearing a very pale yellow silk taffeta ruffled gown. The gown has faded over time and acquired some damage in the form of pin prick holes along the waist and a larger hole on the hemline (please seepictures).
Her hair (brown mohair) is in its original set and thecurls are secured with a sheer doll net. The face is fantastic; all handpainted felt with no mars stains or damage of any kind. Nice black pupils with highlights, and deep red lips. ABSOLUTELY NO REPAINTS. Her body, arms and legs are made of velvet and while there are no stains thecolor has oxidized with age. Underneath her dress, she wears a white cotton full slip and panties. She is five ways jointed and her hands are stitched.
Her green felt shoes have faded and thinned with age, especially the left shoe. Onesock has a hole, again see picture, but on the whole, are in good shape. Mother of Pearl buttons form the closure. She wears and antique straw hat accented with blue silk ribbon and flowers.
If you collect Deans Rag, Lenci or other felt and velvet dolls, this princess will make a lovely addition to your collection. She has been in my collection for quite a while and now it is time for her to travel to your home.
