This is an original throat for a model 1860 cavalry sword scabbard. It will fit any of the makers. Ames, Roby, Mansfield & lamb, Emmerson & silver , Prov tool,Bleckman, Millard or probably some of the more esoteric ones also.
It has rust but no pitting, and will clean up to your desired condition to match you scabbard. I have a few of these from an old Bannerman lot. They are all in similar condition. These parts were press fit and are missing most of the time. Your chance to pick up one to complete your scabbard. Comes with instructions. Please check the response of the many buyers who have already discovered them. As the stock dwindles I will be forced to raise the price. This is the last one of 15 that were for sale starting at this priceJust a short note on others that are for sale here on . They are ALL facsimiles and are not shaped right. The steel ones are trumpet vase shaped and a dead give away crying repro. In addition they also require lots of filing to fit an original 1840 and WON\'T fit an 1860. You will end up with a throat that is not shaped right for a 40, and a waste of time and money. Having said that if you have tried one of those do not mistake those being sold as the same as these. They serve a purpose for repro swords and are made nicely, but they are not for an original sword in any way shape or form.
