This isan original Cartridge/Ammo Box from the Indian Wars. Ithas thick leather and has a Brass Medallion with \"NG\" securely pinned to the front (I believe it stands for National Guard). It is marked \"FRAZIERS PATENT - FEB 5TH 1872 - REISSUED MCH 5TH 1878 - APRIL 23RD 1878 --- RIDABOCK & CO - SUCCESSORS TO - J.H. MCKENNEY & CO. - NEW-YORK ---L8H\".The Leather is stiff and crackled from age and use (it is almost 140 years old),the close tab leather is broken, and it ismissingone top side endcover. TheHinges work good and the \"NG\" medallion is in very good condition. Please see photos.Itmeasures approx. 7\"longx3 1/2\" tall and approx 2\"wide.
