This is one of the best M1860 Cavalry sabers I have had the opportunity to sell. D.J. Millard of Clayville N.Y. The blade condition is unbelievable the polish finish is still excellent. The D.J. Millard stamp and US 1862 C.E.W. are excellent. Pommel is double stamped C.E.W. Charles E. Wilson, Grip is tight the wrapping is still intact and and braided wire wrap is excellent and tight. Knuckle bow is strait and has the most beautiful butterscotch patina, The guard has 6 notches these are usually associated with Kills or Battles, on the guard on rissaro side has the initials of CWK scratched in. The blade , fuller and tip are excellent the blade is 35\" long. The scabbard was chrome or nickel plated at one time most likely for G.A.R duty\'s, The scabbard is strait and dent free the drag is stamped 27 one side the has a 30 stamped on it. This is a museum quality Civil War relic or an excellent addition to a private collection.
