Antique Civil War Cavalry Saber with Scabbard. The Pattern1860 Cavalry Sabre with metal scabbard is in nice original condition. This M1860 sword is marked Mansfield & Lamb, Forestdale R.I.. Also dated 1862, U.S. and initials look like D.F.C.. The cage \"Wristbreaker\" with brass guard, pommel. Has wire wrapped handle still tight, leather has nice color and patina. Some minor flaking and crazing. The blade has patina, some edge nicks, some surface rust. I have not tried to clean the blade. Feels like some pitting on blade towards tip top edge. Heavy metal scabbard has some dents, dark even patina overall.Total length is 41.25 inches, blade 35 inches, blade hasrounded backedge. Private collection fresh, stored for years. This is probably the nicest Federal Civil War Sword I have found. I like it. Questions please ask.
