Thanks for viewing my sale!
You\'re offerding on a Coats RC-5A Rim Clamp tire changer. I purchased this new for home use - it hasn\'t been used commercially - and it works very well on car and smaller truck tires. It has a small footprint for use in a homeowner\'s garage or a smaller shop.
It has the optional tire inflator ring which provides a blast of air to allow the tire beads to \"catch\" on the rim as the inflator pushes the beads apart from each other. This feature works well to mount narrow tires on wide wheels where it\'s a challenge to inflate, but has its limitations. The inflator ring won\'t work on wheel diameters above 17\".
I also purchased (but seldom used) motorcycle clamp extensions that fit over the turntable clamps, making it easy to securely hold motorcycle wheels. They\'re virtually brand new (see last photo).
As I mentioned, this Coats Rim Clamp tire changer works well and has no known issues. It had, however, developed some surface rust that I addressed by sanding and painting over the high-traffic areas that were most susceptible. It looks great compared to most tire changers that lead a tough life, but it\'s not a pristine, refurbished machine. I just tried to take care of it.
Okay, so why is it up for sale?
Well, I bought another Coats tire changer that\'ll work better on lower profile, larger diameter and run-flat tires. Compared to the RC-5A, it takes up an enormous amount of garage real estate but it\'s too late now to confess to my wife that for the occasional use it\'ll see on the family fleet (and friends and relatives), I probably should have lived with the limitations of the old one.
This is a no-reserve sale; it has to go.
I have a tractor with a front bucket to assist with loading, but it\'s LOCAL PICK UP only.
Check my response; offer with confidence.
