Offering a rustic old baker\'s table / cabinet...essentially a workbench for a bakery. As found, its a great height for working, kneading, rolling dough. To increase the height to counter / bar height, a set of rectangular ironextensions have been fabricated for the legs. They are just the right size to slide over the existing legs. These extensions raise the height of the table surface to 38\", just right for an island or bar. These can be removed for use at the original height. They will be painted a dark tan approximating the color of the wood, similar to the brown one in the photos. This has not been done in the photos as I wanted it to be clear these are metal add ons.. The overhanging top and drawers provide great seating opportunity, and are given extra support by ornamental cast iron braces with a little rust and some paint remnants.
When found, this cabinet had dirt, peeling white paint, and some sort of cracked plaster top. The paint and dirt have since been (mostly) removed and the wood sealed with polyurethane. The top has been replaced with an antique table top cut to size. (The original top was likely marble or slate) Just under the top were cutting boards that were broken, greasy or missing. These have been replaced with new (ie. clean and sanitary) butcher block pine cut to fit the slots and left unfinished for you to oil or season as you see fit. The drawer interiors have been cleaned and sanitized with a bleach cleanser, but still show stains and discoloration from years of use. The bottom of the lower cabinet has been replaced. The wood is shows its age with stains, a few cracks, etc.but is a nice solid piece. The interior has more paint remnants than the exterior.
DIMENSIONS: Top 60\" x 23 1/2\" x 1\". Drawers..interior...17 1/2\" x 11\" x 4 1/2\". Upper Cabinet (drawer section) 57\" x 22\" x 7 1/2\". Lower Cabinet 27 3/4\" x 21 1/4 x 21 1/2\" tall. Legs from floor to underside of cabinet 5 1/4\" (12\" w/extensions). Overall height floor to work surface 31\" (38\" w/ extensions). I CAN ALTER THE LEG EXTENSIONS TO BE SHORTER OR REPLACE WITH LONGER TO MATCH ANY REASONABLE HEIGHT YOU DESIRE FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE.
The top and bottom sections will ship separately. The iron braces will be removed also. No shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico.
