1/40 Duna (Frederic Mistral)River Tug by Anfora ( Kit de Madera) of Spain

This is a rare findDuna River Tug Boat kit by Anfora Model from my boat collections.

The Duna is actually called the Frederic Mistral (named of a French poet) and was built for Austria by a shipyard in the Netherland in 1914. Navigated uner the French Company SFND she sailed between the towns of Buda and Pest on the Danube River in early 20th century and operated on a daily basis except in winter due to ice on the river The original ships had an alternative engine of triple firing and use fuel-oil with top speed of 17 knots and 250H.P. These tugs are still in use today.

Anfora’s Duna is a plank-on-bulkhead kit with cleanly die-cut wooden parts and assured trouble free assembly. A wealth of authentically detailed fittings include cast metal propeller, davit and lifeboat, brass rods, chain and stations, steel and copper wire, boxwood helm and rubber bumpers. Two sheets of plans and illustrated instructions manuel.

Experienced R/C modelers can adapt it to R/C operation and power by steam engine (parts not included).
