Dungeons & Dragons - 3 volume set and then some - 1975, 76:
$4405.00

Theset also included brief guidelines on using monsters as player characters.[2]

Thissmall box set contains three 5 1/2\" x 8 1/2\" booklets:[3]Volume1:Men & Magic, Volume 2:Monsters & Treasure,and Volume 3:Underworld & Wilderness Adventures.[4]Underthe \"Dungeons & Dragons\" heading on the cover reads,Rulesfor Fantastic Medieval Wargames Campaigns Playable with Paper and Pencil andMiniature Figures.

Thisset features only a handful of the elements for which the game is known today:just three character classes (fighting-man, magic-user, and cleric); four races(human, dwarf, elf, hobbit); and only threealignments(lawful, neutral, and chaotic). The rules assume that players have owned and have playedtheminiatures wargameChainmailandthat they have used its measurement and combat systems. An optional combatsystem is included within the rules that later developed into the sole combatsystem of later versions of the game. In addition, the rules presumed ownershipofOutdoor Survival, anAvalon Hillboard gameforoutdoor exploration and adventure.

Theset initially referred to some of the creatures in the game as\"hobbits\" and \"ents\" afterJ.R. R. Tolkien-universe creatures, although after legal hassles they werechanged to \"halflings\" and \"treants\",respectively.[1]

Dear Buyers of TSR, Gary Gygax Dungeons and Dragons,
It wasn\'t until we received a question about writing inside the books that we actually opened the books to check them out.
There is light pencil writing in every original book and each supplemental book. As defined earlier, our son played with these and they were heavily used for a few years. Some have as many as 10 pages with a penciled in notation, some have as few as 3 pages with a check mark or a light note. I have taken pictures of the ones with the most writing in them. Despite the penciled in notes, every word of the original content is readable. There is no tape found in the book.
There are two small tears on the back cover of Monsters and Treasure. (see pictures.) There are also 2 loose center pages of supplement Blackmoor (pages 25-32.)The loose tables have writing on a couple of them.
Should you have any additional questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to contact us.
This item will not ship priority mail, fully insured for purchase value, free to winner.
Thank you for your interest in this listing.
