Early 1920s Radio Shop, of San Jose, CA Regenerative Tuner :
$908.98

Condition: The exterior of the radio looks to have had some restoration. The plywood cabinet may not be original to the radio. It has newer white decals on the front panel near the binding posts, and newer white paint in the engraved areas of the front panel and knobs.

The interior of the radio looks to be nearly all original. It contains an old, slightly dusty, oxidized, patina. Some of the wood variometers have glued cracks in the wood frames (the wood has dried out). Two of the variometers have saw marks (one passes through an old screw hole) on one side. The pot metal brackets and aluminum variable capacitor are intact and straight, but have oxidized surfaces. All controls move smoothly.

*Note* The Radio Shop was founded in San Jose, California in 1920, making variometers. It acquired an Armstrong license, and in 1922, started selling radios under various names, among those the \"Echophone\" name, which was marketed nationally. The company was later sold to Western Television (Clem Woods), changing its name to Echo Radio (Echophone). It was again sold in 1934 to William Halligan, to become Hallicrafters.
