This is a vintage hanging embalming jar (made by \"Dazey Churn\" by the Dazey Corp. of St. Louis, MO.) with a lid made by \"Undertakers Supply\" of Chicago. There are several chips in the rim and threads of the jar (see photos). There are no cracks in the jar.I am not sure if this is the correct lid for the jar. It fits on the jar but it does not easily thread on. The thread patterns are similar. I do not want to risk further damage to the jar by forcing it. The large rubber gasket fits securely in the jar and the lid.
