This sale is for a gigantic Heritage Looms flyer attachment that can fit an Ashford or other brand spinning wheel.
The bobbin displayed here is a vintage piece and not included. I\'ve photoshopped it in one picture, so you can see how large the bobbin should be. You will need a bobbin that\'s about 9 inches long. There is a tension strap that can wrap around the bobbin whorl and be adjusted with a tension knob.The flyer unit has a hinged piece that can be screwed onto the base of an Ashford spinning wheel. (I\'m not sure how well this would fit onto other types of spinning wheel bases. There are multiple slots for screws, two of which line up with the Ashford base; I\'m not sure if the additional slot would allow it to line for another brand of spinning wheel.) I\'ve included some pictures of what it looks when attached to an Ashford Traditional base.The flyer is 7.5 inches wide (from arm to arm). The flyer arms are 7.5 inches wide across and 12 inches long from the tip of the flyer arms to the flyer whorl. There is a sliding hook on the right flyer arm that can be moved to position where the ply wraps around the bobbin (instead of having a series of flyer hooks).
The flyer whorl is 4.5 inches wide in diameter. A tiny piece (a wooden splinter) of the flyer whorl chipped off and was glued back into place. Just a tiny barely-visible aesthetic flaw; doesn\'t affect the function of the whorl at all.
