This Fabulous desgined Old German Black Forest Hand Painted \"Musical\" Cuckoo clock was found at a recent private estate sale along with several other old German Cuckoos. (Please view the pictures below). The clock measures a overall length of 19\" from top of roof to bottom of the pendulum and 9 1/2\" wide at the widest point. The German clock maker was very artistic in designing this clock with very colorfully hand painted and leaves and tree branches. The front peak of the roof displays a lovely carved and colorful forest Blue Bird with a Red Breast (She even has a glass inlaid eye) and accented on the sides with carved dimensional and colorful Maple leaves and branches. The front of the clock is framed with more of the carved and painted Maple leaves and branches. This piece was carved from a single piece of wood. The face of the clock is numbered in Roman numerals and marked \"Made in Germany\" at the bottom. The upper front of the clock has two little hinged wooden doors. The Cuckoo bird will appear from the door on the right on the half hour and hour. While he bobs up and down he will coo coo once on the half hour and as many times needed for hour of the day, on the hour. While he coo coos a musical Chime sounds in the back ground. When he is finishing coo cooing on the hour the little door on the left will open and display a little German man and a lovely Old German tune is played in the background. The movement is of the finest German quality , Made from solid Brass and powered by three Pine cone shaped metal weights that hang on Brass chains and regulated by a matching carved leaf pendulum . This pendulum will swing back and forth beneath the clock. The overall condition of the wooden is very good and the Cuckoo bird and Musical tune functions work properly .
