This is a Fantastic Vintage Antique Moire Wedding Gown from the early 1920’s!
LABEL: none
Fabric is a medium-weight silk moire taffeta … ivory in colour. Lace is ivory/ecru in colour with metallic gold cord detail. Dress is not lined.
Design: stand-up, wire framed, lace collar… v-neckline… long slender sleeves with ruching at wrists and 6 metal hook closures… vertical ruching at center back waist and sides… low waist… full skirt that is shorter in front with a fabulous long, forked – pointed train… side metal snap closure.
Fair Vintage Condition! This dress would be best for repurpose, display, study, repair. The collar is fabulous and I found no tears in the lace. The color is good with minimal soiling. The armpits are completely destroyed. The armpit area is the only area (besides the inside wrist area) of yellowing and weakness/tears. The rest of the taffeta seems to be strong. The dress could be made sleeveless with some reworking of the armholes. The collar is so magnificent and would be worth harvesting on its own. This gown is sold AS-IS with no returns or refunds.
