The Model 3180 is a spring reverb unit, circa 1983. This one is serial number 0200784ST. I am the first/only owner. This unit DOES come with the optional \"ears\" that convert it fromtable-top use to rack-mountable (most don\'t include this immensely practical option).
Note: Photos are of the actual unit, not stock images of a reference unit.
The front panel has all the plastic knob covers intact. A nice feature for this unit is that it has 1/4\" input and outputs for both channels that are accessible from the front. It also has RCA connections on the back (see the photos).
Unlike many spring reverbs, this one was designed to minimize the \"boing\" sound many of them make when impacted (like older guitar amps). Regardless, the user manual (included, as printed from a PDF file provided by the manufacturer), recommends you not place this close to speakers or other sources of vibration.
The channels can be linked/mixed, while still using the two reverb sections in parallel. Or, they can be kept totally separate to preserve the stereo effect. The dry & wet signals can be blended & sent to the outputs, without the need fora separate mixer. Or, a 100% wet signal can be sent to the outputs, when used in conjunction with a mixer (i.e., withsend & return paths).
