General Electric NOS Y-1737-1/6LW6 Power Tube (Set of 2)
This is a power output tube on steroids. The 6LW6 was the largest power sweep tube General Electric made.
Rated at 40 watts dissipation, this tube is basically a 6LF6 in an easier to use octal base. Filament voltage
is 6.3V @ 2.65 amperes. Maximum plate voltage is 990 VDC.These tubes can be used in either audio or radio
frequency amplifiers. There is an article on the web for a 180 watt audio amplifier using 2 of these 6LW6.
The amplifier is called a LW6180. The Y-1737-1 was a engineering prototype of the forthcoming 6LW6. I have
found these tubes to be better quality than the production units and are normally closer matched. You get
a set of 2 of these unique tubes. They also can be used in radio frequency amplifiers up to 30 Mhz.These
particular tubes were manufactured on 10/2/1969. Data sheets are available on the web or I can send you one
with the order.
