MARTI clocks are frequently offered on and elsewhere,
however the chance in finding this clock elsewhere is NIHL!!
This clock was in made on the exact scale of the normal sized grandfathers
clock Marti made.This \"mini\" clock was taken to clocksellers in France, to shown them what
they had to offer.Of course it was impossible to drag a normal sized grandfathers clock to
the shops, so this is where this piece comes from!It has been the first and only one I ever saw, and I have seen thousands and
thousands of clocks.....
This BABY GRANDFATHERS CLOCKis an ABSOLUTE UNIQUE PIECE!!
Not only does the case come in GILDED BRONZE, with an inmense weight
of almost 6 kg\'s; this beauty also has an ADULT, 8 days Movement with
a bell strike on full and half hours!!
Clocks like this are extremely collectable and it will rise in value
at the moment this is written!
The case comes in BRILLIANT SHINING GILDED BRONZE, with lots of
shining features.
The BEVELLED crystal in the front door, is FREE of imperfections.
The pendulum driven movement runs SUPER and ON TIME!
Behind the window in the front door, there is a CURVED PORCELAIN dial,
with a GILDED Centre, in an amazing condition.
There are Roman numbers, with RED, Floral decorations in between them.
There is a CARTOUCHE, right under the middle of the clocks face, where
the sellers mark would be readable.
Of course, in the case of this \"commercial\" piece, this cartouche is blanc.
The hands come in black metal and are richly decorated.
This clock BREATHES STYLE!!!
The movement is a VERY RELIABLE MARTI one, marked of course, with the
A1 mark, which can be directly linked to the years of manufactory -> 1889!
This piece performs like it left the shop yesterday!
It strikes on its Bell once on half hours and on full hours it strikes the
amount, corresponding with the time at that moment.
The dial has 60 partition as well; one for each minute, making this a very
precise instrument.
Precise indeed, because this jewel runs PERFECTLY ON TIME!
The movement also has a nice, VERY quiet ticking.
Remark: This object is not new though in an absolute amazing
condition.
Expectable time related, cosmetic minor imperfections might occur.
Mentionable is that there are TINY chips on the edges of the crystal in the
back door (photo 11), the pendulum lens is not original (photo 12 and there
is a TINY chip on the dial, on the 8 o\'clock position, next to the winding
hole (photo 9).
Also, the GILDED layer has some faded areas.
These things are NOT disturbing and regarding the age of this clock not
uncommon.
I wanted to mention them anyway!
