GOLD QUARTZ SPECIMEN NATURAL GOLD IN QUARTZ MICROMOUNT 1.38 GRAMS:
$84.00

CALIFORNIA GOLD QUARTZSPECIMENGold from the Mother Lode
$3 Reduction on 8-18-17
There\'s hardly anything prettier than native, natural gold straight from the earth or stone. Please feel free to admire this handsome gem.
The precious metal contained is abundant. Since gold is much heavier than quartz, at 21.3 grains (troy), I would guesstimate this specimen to be around 50% by weight in gold. White matrix (quartz) is attached to the gold. An unidentified dark, gun-metal grey mineral is associated. This lacy golden morsel hails from the Sierra Nevada mountains of California. Unless my beans had run out, I would not have sold this for $100 back when gold was worth a fraction of what it is today. In November of 1993, gold spot was $361 per ounce. Here it is, 2017, and one truth remains - \"anything is worth exactly what you can get for it.\"For prospective mineral collectors, rest assured you\'ve got the real Mccoy here. Please check my response for any disputes arising from non-authenticity issues. You won\'t find any. Specimen weight: 1.38 Gram - 21.3 Grains Size - 14.6X11X7.4 mm
Ruler (if shown)is 1/4\" wide (actual size). A U.S. 10 cent piece isoften usedto show size of theitem for sale.FAST REFUNDIn case you\'re unhappy with thisspecimen, I offer a money backguarantee which includes your initial S&H.With regards to my gold quartz parcels, gold quartz specimens, slabs, and cabochon, I only deal in rocks containing VG (visible gold), not minerals or substances that appear to containgold or that only assay gold. Ithinkmost of us interested inoro (Atomic symbol Au) would like to see authentic, native gold intheir specimens; gold that was put there by natural elemental forces, not by some man\'shand. It\'s an aesthetic we share and that\'s whatI sell -authentic, natural, gold quartz (withVGvisible gold). For thosewho knowtheups and downsof theprecious metals market, thisisa heck of a deal. Buy it and if the market drops dramatically in the next 30 days, you can return it for what you paid for it. That\'s a pretty cool insurance policy for precious metal buyers. I think most specimen buyers, however, are more interested inthese rocks for their intrinsic beautyandcollectability than they are for their gold content.
NATIVE MINERALS Checkanyand all Gold of Eldorado response for disputesarisingfrom non-authenticity of the specimens I sell. You won\'t find any.Ideal in nativeminerals with naturally-occurring visible gold, notreplicas, not painted or paste-ons.I don\'tpeddle \'simulated\' specimens madewith minute amounts of gold or no real gold at all. Nor do you find any salted pay-dirt here. That\'s not genuine. Real pay-dirt was created by nature, not by a man\'s hand dropping gold into a bucket or zip-lock bag full of sand or dirt. I was a professional placer miner priding myself on being able to locate pay-streaks, both virgin pay-packs and redeposits. If I still had mining claims, any pay-dirt offered here would be direct from the ground and the original deposit from whence it was taken. It might be unconsolidated alluvium or, it could still be hard pack. With most virgin deposits, the gold-bearing dirt will be highly compacted and/or cemented. If my claim contained these clays and/or caliches, I would make every effort to deliver this material just as it was found, unsalted, consolidated, and \'virgin\'. The problem to maintaining pristine pay-dirt condition is that removing \'pay\' from where it\'s lain buried for thousands or millions of years requires excavation. The process of digging this high-grade dirt up generally will cause sediments to break apart. But I don\'t sell pay-dirt and now you know part of the reason why. I\'ve personallybought rocks thathad gold painted on them. I\'ve bought so-called\'natural gold quartz\'specimens withtiny chunks of placer goldgluedinto the vugs. All of my advertised specimens, slabs, cabochons, nuggets, gold ores (or \'paydirt\', if offered) will be authentic. The gold contained will be naturally-occurring and native i.e. most of what I sell was found in the U.S. The purity of this gold will vary, but if it\'s from California, you can count onthe percentage being fairly high, say from 70% to 95% pure. For comparision,a 14Kgold wedding band is 58% pure gold.Theorigin of this specimen is a veinsystem in theSierraNevadaMtns. ofCalifornia.GOLDEN DREAMS
As a lad, my dreams stirred and mystified me with the recurring labor of digging for gold in my neighbor\'s back yard. That has always struck me as odd since my roots are in southern Illinois, where coal, not gold, was king. What could have been the stimulus for such visions? I like to believe distant ancestors were involved, but it seems unlikely I\'m destined ever to find out. In any case, the seed was planted. After four years in the military, something called me to move out west. Could that \'something\' have been the Call of the Wild or the ancient lure of gold? Once relocating to Arizona, there was nothing else to do but become a prospector. I got to know the lay of the land, learned to go where the gold was, and followed the trail of the argonauts for 20 years.
As a lone wolf, small-scale placer miner, I relied upon rocker boxes, bucket brigades, sluices, gold pans, dry-washers, shovels, pickaxes, suction dredges, metal detectors, and my old work-horse, a \'76 Ford Econoline van. If you\'ve a strong work ethic and aren\'t a \'loaf about the fort\', mining might suit you nicely. It\'s mostly brute hard work. I can respect big equipment operators for their prowess at moving earth as well as the small-scale, artisanal, tunnel-rat miner burrowing beneath 100 feet of alluvial overburden. There are countless diverse types of placer deposits requiring different methodologies to recover the gold. From someone who knows, there\'s no such thing as \'an easy ounce\'. Relatively speaking, I have found \'easy ounces\', but added to the countless weeks or months of finding little or nothing...well...you get the picture.
