Antique Hit Miss Cast Iron Implement Disc Roller/Sharpener and not sure if the Patent Date is from 1915.
The only patent search that I could find that looked like this one is from the James Depew Company, Loup City NE. This one has a larger drive pulley than other disk sharpener shown in the patent search but has the similar design.I do not see any markings who made it, just some numbers on some of the pieces.Looks like it might be missing some parts on the disc holding piece.
The large belt drive pulley, measures 22 1/2 inches in diameter & 4 1/2 inches wide.
The larger cog gears are 24 inches in diameter and 20 inches in diameter.
The drive wheel and the two larger gears will move a little but I think the small gear system will need some oiling/cleaning.
Last picture shows where a piece is broken off.
Other than the disc roller area, I do not see any obvious cracks, welds or repairs.
Full Payment is due after the sale but I can store it for around 90 days and I have several other blacksmith/Hit Miss items listed at this time.
