I did find this doll in my Ideal Doll book but the # read P 2000...I was thinking it may be a misprint? Ours is marked pb 200 Ideal Doll Made in USA.
She is a transitional baby doll meaning that when the company in the 40\'s switched to newer plastic and vinyl materials, the older molds were still used to produce them and often the dolls were made of different composites.
Baby has a beautiful hard plastic head and composition arms and legs attached to a cloth body. She is about 23 inches long and has cleaned up very well with no missing digits, bad odors or damage. The paint on her compositon arms is wearing thin Her original cryer only mews when her back is patted. I did make a new cloth body and slipped it over the dingy original, not to disturb the firm stuffing. Her beautiful brown \"root beer eyes\" are fully lashed, sleeps well and the painted lashes and brows are still lovely. You may note a tiny smudge on the tip of her nose and on her hair, as expected on these well loved 70 year old dolls.
She is wearing a pink nylon smocked/eyelet bodice dress, which appears to be original to her. I have made the matching slip, bloomers and fru~fru bonnet to compliment it. blue knitted booties match the bows.
