Carved wooden goblet with polychrome painted scenes and decorative motifs.
Measures 7 3/4\" high, 4 7/8 - 5\" across. There is a crack that extends from the rim all the way down through the pedestal. The colors of the paint appear slightly brighter and more vibrant in the photos than in person. The bowl of the cup is misshapen - not quite round.
We believe this is a Colonial Period (17th-18th century) Incan kero. A similar footed kero is housed at the University of Florida Samuel Harn Museum of Art. It is the only other example of a footed kero I could find.
