According to Tony Shaw, Professor of Contemporary History atUniversity of Kansas, the film serves as a Soviet counterpart toRambo: First Blood Part II.[2]According toRobert D. English, the positive depiction of the Soviets in contrast to the Americans is an example of the methods used to shape cultural perceptions during the late Cold War.[3]

All VHS tapes have been previously viewed. They are rentals and come from a video store\'s inventory, which has been packed away in storage since the store closed its\' doors. Tapes may have writing and/or rental store stickers on them and cases may have some shelf wear or damage (see photos). Since we have thousands of videos to sort through it\'s impossible for us to test them all, therefore these are sold as-is and we can\'t make any guarantees on the video. We have however chosen some tapes randomly from the full inventory and so far they have played without any problems. If you would like to request us to test this movie, send us a message and we will see what we can do! We will be listing many VHS tapes in the near future as well, so if you\'re a collector please save us and keep an eye out for more and if there is a specific movie you may be looking for, feel free to contact us and we will try and see if we have a copy buried somewhere.
