CHRISTMAS Joe Maphis-Style ELK DOUBLENECK GUITAR CUSTOM MOSRITE COPY:
$2275.00

Joe Maphis-Style ELKDOUBLENECKGUITAR CUSTOM MOSRITE COPY.

PEARL WHITE. EXTREMELY RARE. #7 of ONLY 50 MADE.

A TRUE VINTAGE and COLLECTIBLE GUITAR.

This is a must buy piece for theserious MOSRITE collector. For those of us who love Mosrite guitars (andthose made by the original guys from Mosrite), we respect the quality of theMosrite pieces Made In Japan. Their quality is incredible.

This guitar was the result of a\"reverse engineered\" project where craftsman at the MIYUKI COMPANY inJapan created their own “ELK MOSRITE inspired” guitars beginning in 1967. Theirguitars were “reverse engineered” as “replicas” in appearance to USA Mosriteguitars. Again, they did not “counterfeit” MOSRITE guitars, they createdtheir own ELK branded guitars “in the style of the Mosrite”.

What is so amazing about these guitarsis they are of such high quality. Look at the pickup covers, hardware, etc. They are molded to raise the “ELK” brand. That is not aninexpensive thing to do. And every part of this guitar is of the highestquality material and is extremely well crafted. A lot of money was spentto produce only 50 guitars. But it has made this guitar into a truecollectible.

Elk was a Japanese guitar, amplifierand music-electronics brand during the 1960s and 1970s. Elk instruments werebuilt by the Miyuki Company and were mostly distributed within Japan. Miyukireportedly stopped making ELK amplifiers (and possibly the guitars as well) inthe early 1970s and manufacture was taken over by Hoshino Gakki (the owners ofthe Ibanez brand).

The knobs, body style, pickups, headstock, serial number location, and THE SOUND are all extremely similar tothe Mosrite (\"clone is an appropriate term”). But, it is much largerthan the Mosrite double neck. That gives it a heavier and fuller soundthan the Mosrite and sustain that lasts forever.

A previous owner has put a label on theheadstock that reads \"Blaine, Washington\" with the zip code forBlaine, WA.

We are extremely impressed with thequality of construction of this guitar. Look at it closely. It hascast parts for the pickups, tremolo arm, tail piece. And the stringguides at the bottom are well machined. This is a guitar that took a lotof time and money to build.

The 12 String side has a MAPLE NECKwith a beautiful ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD. It has one ELK branded pickup(hand wound is what I was told), a T-O-M Bridge, and Fixed Tailpiece. There is a hairline crack on the neck that has been repaired and only seems tobe cosmetic. The frets are in great shape and unlike most Mosrites, theydo not need to be replaced.

The 6 String side has a MAPLE NECK witha beautiful ROSEWOOD FINGERBOARD. It has two ELK branded pickups (handwound is what we were told), a T-O-M Bridge, and ELK branded Vibratobridge.

Switches include: (2) pickup SelectorSwitch, Dual tone volume and tone controls, and a 2-way neck selector switch.

This guitar is in very good plus condition. The body and neck have the usual minor scrapes and dents but nothing bad.The finish is a pearl white that has aged yellowish on top. A perfectvintage color.

It plays great and sounds great.

It does not include a case. Itwill be carefully packed for shipment. This is a guitar that should beput out so everyone can see it.

We consider this to be a EXTREMELY HIGHCOLLECTIBLE GRADE instrument which will only increase in value. And ifyou are a serious MOSRITE COLLECTOR, you must have this guitar. It is arare instrument.

It is in excellent functional conditionand very good cosmetic condition.
