This machine has not even broke 1000 hours yet. The machine was taken care of and kept inside most of its life. It developed a slight tap unfortunately while trying to get it back to the shop the connecting rod broke and punched a whole through the right side of theblock. It still runs and can move under its own power. The repair could be as simple as connecting rod, crank work, bearings, and misc. parts. I have not removed or disassembled the engine.There is a possibilityto salvage the crank and weld the damaged block. The hole looks to be four inches tall by one inch wide center cylinder. The engine is a John Deere3 cylinder2.9 liter 3029 turbo Power Tech Diesel.
If you know anything about skid steers 1000 hoursis nothing. A 250 Deere is a quality mid size machine for both the contractor and home owner. It is built much like a New Holland.The optional hi flow hydraulic system will operate most any attachment. It will handle 1750lbs and is stout yet limber weighing 6200lbs allowing it toeasily bepulled behind a 3/4 ton pick up. If your mechanically inclined you won\'t have a problem with the engine repairs.
The pneumatic tires have better than 90 percent life left. The bucket on the other hand could use some work the bottom is thin and worn.
