Karlsbad Chocolate Antique 3 Piece Mantle Clock Set by Carl Knoll Circa 1914-15:
$399.65

Up for your consideration today is a stunning find. This is an absolutely gorgeous Mantle Clock set made by Carl Knoll around Circa 1914-1915. Each piece is done in a rich Chocolate Brown with Blue, Gold and Yellow bordered design. The set consists of a center clock measuring approximately 11 1/4\" tall and 6\" wide. The matching side vases measure approximately 10\" tall and 3 1/4\" at the base and 2 1/2 at the top. The clock features a beautiful scene of 4 gorgeous Nymphs lounging around and they look to be very happy with their wine jug front and center. The blue trim is a striking cobalt blue with a pale yellow design underneath. The rear of the clock is bright clean white. Both side vases show the same theme. A Man & Woman in period dress taking a stroll in the country side while she carries her basket. Just gorgeous. The clock movement appears to be original. It is made and marked by Kienzle Clock Manufacturers which were well known in their time and this appears to date to 1919. The clock has been running for 6 hours at the time of this listing and it appears to keep excellent time with its two hand movement and period large numbers with the 24 hour clock on the outside. The condition of all the pieces is very good for its age but there is some gold trim loss on all of the pieces but does not really take that much away. There are also some minor flea bites that you would expect and a couple of little chips that have been previously minimized with some color of some sort so they are not really jumping out at you. I\'ve tried to show them in the high res images but if you would like closer shots please ask. There is one pretty substantial chip on the back leg but again, its not noticeable on the front. Both the vases are stamped Knoll but with different stamps and the clock has none but again, quite obviously the set was produced together. Lastly, the key which I believe is a 00000 Key that changes the time is missing. I\'ve seen these on for less than $6 dollars but the mechanism works perfectly. This is perfect for the antique clock collector or for someone\'s home. Made to sit handsomely on your mantle, this set will not disappoint. We try very hard not to make mistakes but ultimately we\'re human.
