Description
Antique cuckoo clock with Oak and ebonised case. The clock has a superb, two train mechanism with wire fusee drive for the cuckoo. The clock looks original throughout and is in working order though there are losses to the case - please see below. ..
The clock weighs 6kg before wrapping and stands 21\" high, 13.25\" wide, 8\" deep and has a 6.5\" dial.
The clock is in working order though one bellow is punctured and does not currently sound. I do, however, recommend a light clean/oil as the clock has not been in use for some time. The cuckoo bird is fully automated with flapping wings and opening beak.
The case is of Oak, Oak veneer and with ebonised sections. There is no woodworm and though dirty from years of neglect the case is sound and generally in good order. The faults include a shrink crack to the front below the dial; damage/loss to the crown; no door for the cuckoo; some veneer lift to the roof and the loss of most of the numerals. In my opinion the clock presents an excellent opportunity for restoration and looks totally untouched.
