This is the Lionel Standard gauge set #392E with set box top and bottom as well as all other component boxes. made in 1929 only. This set consists of a Lionel 390E locomotive, 390T coal tender and 3 cars. The factory paint on the entire set is all original with no touch ups on any piece. 3 passenger cars included in the set #\'s 341 Observation,#339 Pullman and #332 Baggage cars. The cars are illuminated and lights work. Peacock Blue with Orange inserts and doors. The engine and tender have their original boxes with all flaps attached sealed with factory tape on one side. There is a box insert for the coal tender and one for the engine box. Engine box is the tall version for 1929 and stamped 1929 by the box maker. Engine box has a small tear on one side/edge and staining on top and sides. The boxes for the cars are complete with all inner and outer flaps attached and sealed on one side with original factory tape. The set box has a nice top label and side label indicating the set #392E. The E on the side label is partially missing (SEE PICTURE). Set box Top has 2 split repaired corners, bottom has no repairs, some writing on one side panel of set box. All boxes have some staining and discoloration. Included is a #81 controlling rheostat in its original box with tape repairs holding it together. Factory instruction manual, a 1929 original pocket catalog in very clean condition with a loose cover, 8 curved tracks and 6 straight tracks with track clips are present. The Engine runs and has original Lionel wheels. The bell on the engine appears to be a replacement. The engine runs on straight track but gets stuck in the curves so you will need to replace one or more of the original drive wheels as they have expanded a bit. The Pendulum relay clicks and makes noise but the engine does not reverse properly. The set shows play-wear, small nicks,dings and scratches.
