This week I am listing some HO scale model trains and kits that belonged to my grandfather. I'm not sure of the age of these pieces but they would have had to be purchased prior to 1994.
Item Description:
These are three HO scale models that my grandfather built for his train set.
One is a farm or country house. It is a lovely home, quite spacious with a covered porch and two chimneys. It was neatly built. I have noticed that it is missing front steps to the porch and also steps to the back door. Maybe they don't like visitors? Also they apparently lost one shudder to a window at the back of the house during a wind storm.
Next is a small red oil tank with a little shack in front of it. The two Southern Oil decals are loose. There is a tiny little stub next to the shack. There might have been a tree there at one time that was chopped down. I'm not sure but whatever it was, its not particularly noticeable (I didn't notice it the first few times I looked). If anyone were to ever notice, I'd stick with the tree story.
Finally the third piece, my grandfather would be disappointed in me but I don't know what you call this building that bridges over the track and it has two moveable hooks under it. I am guessing the hooks have to do with loading trains? I'll bet folks who build train models know exactly what this is and are shaking their head that I don't. I would be most appreciative if someone messaged me and told me. Anyway, it seems to be in good condition. The little hooks slide back and forth. I do wonder though if there should have been stairs going up to the door as there is a space in the rail and with a gap there, it looks pretty dangerous for teeny tiny HO scale train workers.
