M4 Bayonet and Scabbard for M1 Carbine - KI Kinfolks- Great Shape:
$295.00

Here\'s a great item for the M1 Carbine or WWII blade collector! This is an early production, high condition M4 bayonet manufactured by Kinfolks Inc. The M4 bayonet was developed from the M3 fighting knife with a guard and pommel modified for mounting on the M1 Carbine. The M4 was adopted by the U.S. military in May, 1944. Production began at Kinfolks on October 12, 1944. WWII production had a handle composed of stacked leather washers. This bayonet is the earliest variation from Kinfolks and has a 6-groove handle with TWO leather washers between each groove. The guard is marked \"U.S.M4/K.I.\" on one side and is marked with a \"Flaming Ordnance Bomb\" on the other. The pommel is marked with a stylized \"SP\" as this component was supplied to Kinfolks by subcontractor Standard Products. The metal finish is parkerized, and all original. There is no rust or pitting. The original finish shows only minor in-out wear to the sides of the blade. The blade has never been after-factory sharpened or re-tipped. The leather handle is in excellent condition as well with only minor wear. The bayonet comes with an original, excellent condition, M8A1 scabbard that shows almost no wear at all. Kinfolks manufactured 119,702 or about 5% of the total M4 bayonet production, ceasing manufacture in April, 1945. A super example for the serious collector!
