A very niceBIRD CAGE / WHISTLING AUTOMATONwith KARL GRIESBAUM of GERMANYmark. It has a miniature Red moving bird with blue/gray feathers. When turned on (integral key) the bird\'s head and tail move up and down and it whistles and warbles.The bird sits on a T-shaped metal perch standing on green felt.It isposed in a bocage of leaves and berries complete with the traditional miniature Black Forest red toadstool. The domed brass/ gilt cage has a ring handleon top and a circular drum basewith ornate embossing.It sits on three round ball feet. The gold finish has a couple dark spots but I believe they can be polished out. I did not try. Overall condition is excellent for it age. . 11.5\" Tby 6.5\"D.

NOTE: Marked on underside of base with Karl Griesbaum trademark , a circle containing a bird perched on a mountain range flanked by the letters \"KG\". See pictures.
