This sale is for a nice conditionMEP-007B 100kW military generator mounted on its appropriate military M353trailer. It has just over 651 original hours of use and everything works 100%. Engine runs very clean, is strong andresponsive.I went thru the Army\'s \"depreservation\" procedure- going through theentire fuel system replacing filters and then tested all the components (suchas solenoids, pumps, injectors,etc) to insure the fuel delivery system worksflawlessly. The oil filter was replaced, then both the oil and engine coolantwere drained and replaced. The 6 cylinder diesel engine (217 hp) was checkedfor compression and a leak down testwas performed to insurethat the engine is within specifications. An electrical load was placed on allthe different circuits of the generator (while the engine was at speed) toinsure that it produces the rated power at each voltage setting. The trailerwas dismantled and inspected (pulling off tires and replacing bearings andrepacking as needed) to insure that it will provide trouble free service. Thisfamily of generators run at 1800 RPMs when under full load- about half of whatthe most expensive civilian models run at. The compression ratio is alsomarkedly higher than on comparable civilian diesel units. The engine and thegenerator set are both designed to be hardy in the field and to operate undercombat conditions. They are built simply to facilitate this and to make itrelatively easy to diagnose the odd issue that may crop up and to repair it inthe field. The end result for civilian use is that, if these generators aremaintained properly, they will provide many thousands of hours of use beforeany major refurbishment is needed. Under combat/field use the Army manualsstate that 5000 hours on the meter is typically the earliest that these modelswill need any major work done on them. The military underrates the output ofthese generators by 25%- so one that is rated at 100kW will actually do 125kWunder normal operating conditions. That same underrating applies to all U.S.military generators, regardless of their size. If you run a unit at 5000\' abovesea level or higher the rating comes down by a very small percentage. Thisgenerator will put out 125kW constantly while under load and is very easilyconverted to single phase at all of the different voltage outputs. I doroutinely travel down the East Coast (from NJ to Miami) and to most of theSoutheast. I would consider delivering this generator for what it costs me if the buyer was in an area that I would otherwise travel to. Time and schedule permitting, of course. Itis alsoan option for the buyer to pick the generator up here in northcentral West Virginia.
