Here is a very rare 1890s tool called a \"DYNAMITE EXTRACTOR SPOON\" used by miners and powdermen to extract dynamite from a missed fired drilling hole. The miner would insert the spoon end into the drill hole to clean out the tamping material and then insert the screw end to grab on to the stick of dynamite and pull it out of the hole. He would then insert a new stick of dynamite with a new blasting cap and fuse and re shoot the hole. This miners dynamite extractor spoon is 27\" long and made out of 3/8\" X 1/4\" stock. This is a very rare mining tool as in over thirty years of exploring old abandoned mines I have only found a few of these unique tools. It is in excellent condition because it hasn\'t been exposed to weather like light or moisture in over 120 years. If you collect blasting, mining or explosive items..
