This Miraphone Hunting Horn in Bbis in great shape and sounds great! It plays the same notes as the open notes on a Bb Horn (or trombone or euphonium). It is wrapped in green leather around the main loop of the instrument. The brace on the bell is shaped like a heart. There are not many scratches and it looks like this instrument has not been used much. It does have a raw brass finish, so it does need to be polished to maintain the shinyappearance.
I imagine this is one of the highest quality hunting horns you can buy.
10.5 inch bell.The instrument is in excellent condition. The only damage I see is a section where the bell may have been bent (see pictures). Also, there is about a 3/8 inch tear in the leather (see picture) and another spot where is a small part of the leather torn off (see picture)This hunting horn uses a larger mouthpiece than normal French horn. The mouthpiece receiver is large enough to accept a trumpet mouthpiece (however, a trumpet mouthpiece doesn\'t sound very good). Also, I have an adapter to allow it to use a normal horn mouthpiece.The mouthpiece is raw brass and has a brass chain attached to it. The mouthpiece is also in great shape and has no markings on it.
