Here is a unique, beautiful and ANTIQUE NAVAJO RUG FROM THE CRYSTAL REGION OF THE NAVAJO RESERVATION. This rug is hand woven from hand spun and hand carded Churro Sheep Wools. The wool colors of grey, white and dark brown, are made from hand spun and carded natural Churro Sheep Wools. The red is Churro Wool as well but hand dyed with a Red Vegetal Dye.
The size of this textile is approximately 84\" X 43\",with a hand spunwool warp of about 6, and a hand spun Wool Weft of 20 (soft yet durable weave)- a beautifully designed and well constructed piece of NativeAmerica!CONDITION - GREAT for AGE with some wear/tear (Please see all pics!): NO old dry/tired/bad wool, all wool is in superb condition, NO Bug/insect damage, NO notable stains (clean & no odor), and NO Notable fading of color. There is some wear, primarily to one end (see pic #11), where there are some snags, frays and small holes. The End Selvage Cords are about 99% intact/present (a couple of partial breaks) - a braid of two, 2-ply wool yarns (one white and one brown / hand spun). The Side Selvage Cords are about 98% intact/present (2 brief breaks in cord), a twist of two fine, 2-ply grey wool yarns. The corners are in good condition, with all some wear to the corner ties (see pic of corners).
THIS IS A CLASSIC NAVAJO ANTIQUE WEAVING WHICH DISPLAYS VERY WELL AS A FOLLOR RUG OR LARGE WALL HANGER AS IS!!!

I am adding some detail re: the end of rug with hole/snags/frays (see photo) - there are about 1 dozen small holes / frays / snags. The largest is approximately 1 & 1/2\" x 1/2\' and they range to the smallest of about 1/4\" x 1/4\". This is includes 2 small 1/4\" x 1/4\" or so holes closer to center area of rug. JB
