CHAMADOREA ELEGANSNEANTHEBELLA PALM
Whether you call this plant by its scientific names, Chamadorea elegans or Neanthebella Palm, or by its nickname, Parlor Palm, this compact dark green houseplant with long graceful fronds is a fabulous plant that does well in almost all locations. A Neanthe bella Palm can be small enough to use in a terrarium or tall enough to sit on the floor. In a 6” pot it makes a perfect table plant. When a Parlor Palm is planted in a 10” pot, it can grow up to 4ft. tall. Since a Neanthebella Palm requires very little care, it is the perfect plant for offices, businesses, and for less than optimal growing conditions in some homes.
LIGHT
A Parlor or Neanthebella Palm is a great plant for those low-light corners where nothing else seems to grow. If you can read a book during the day without putting on a light, you can put a Parlor Palm there. Parlor Palms do grow faster in bright filtered light.
WATER
Water your parlor palm well and then allow the top 50% of the soil to dry our before watering.
FERTIZER
Feed a Neanthebella Palm monthly in the spring and summer with a basic houseplant food at 1/2 the recommended strength. Fertilize a Parlor Palm every other month in the fall and winter. Houseplant palm plants in low lightconditions need less food.
