The Sony GV-A500 Hi8 Video Walkman video cassette recorder was brand new in its original box and was only removed to photograph it.

The box has some wear on the edges from storage but the contents appear to be in perfect shape.

The batteries are optional accessories and were not included, but unit can be operated without battery with the included AC Adapter/Charger. Also included are interconnecting cables.

The Sony GV-A500 makes digital video more portable thanever. This handy video walkman acts as a digital VCR, recording footage fromTVs or camcorders onto Digital8 cassettes, while also letting users viewdigital video on the included 4-inch active matrix LCD screen. As an extrabonus, the device also lets users edit Digital8 video while on the move withoutrequiring an expensive laptop computer. Editing is enhanced by the 2x playbackand playback zoom, which allows the editor to zoom into a selected area ofvideo for closer inspection.

The GV-A500 is also backward-compatible with older Hi8 and8mm recordings, letting users watch previously recorded material in either SPor LP modes.
