I really have no idea how this works but it is a very cool piece. The optics seem to be good and clear with the lines intact. Very strong magnification! The condition is as shown. It is not perfect. Leather is dry or broken. Some corrosion in areas. The level housing is cracked on the bottom of the transit. Bubble is still there. O-ring on the center post is dry rotted Sold as is Fast shipping
